During her career, Lorraine has been responsible for underwriting, managing and growing quality portfolios of commercial insurance, by working closely with business development teams and brokers to deliver solutions that address diverse clients’ risk needs. This has included the writing of large and complex risks, the development of delegated authority schemes and provision of technical advice and guidance.
Gordon Williams, Regional Underwriting Manager at Pen, said: “Lorraine is a well-known and highly respected underwriter in the Scottish commercial insurance market, so we are absolutely delighted she has chosen to join Pen and our Glasgow-based team. Her extensive track record as a trading underwriter, backed by deep technical expertise and a wealth of regional market knowledge, offers the ideal blend of experience to further our work in helping regional brokers build long-lasting relationships with their commercial clients.
“Our risk-management led proposition is all about creating a virtuous circle of improvement and broker-client relationships that stand the test of time. Lorraine’s experience as an empowered underwriter, keen to trade and tailor insurance solutions to meet individual client needs will be a real asset as we look to continue supporting brokers and growing our business across Scotland.”
Lorraine Malcolm commented: “I am delighted at the opportunity to join Pen Underwriting, whose growth journey to become one of the largest MGAs in the UK over the past 10 years has shown them to be ambitious, focused and forward-thinking. Importantly, Pen blends underwriting expertise with a flexible, open-minded approach to business which builds and sustains strong broker and market relationships. I look forward to being part of the team and contributing to Pen's continued success and future growth.”
