1. Can you share a success story where your team's expertise saved the day?

A corporate client contacted us directly to ask if we could quote. We advised them that they needed a broker to place the business for them. We were subsequently contacted by a broker and urgent terms were requested and provided.  Because we were able to respond quickly and be flexible with the client’s invoicing requirements, we successfully bound the risk.

We were delighted that the client wanted to work with us and got the solution they needed.


2. In one sentence, what sets Pen Underwriting's PA team apart from the rest in the industry?

Our flexibility and customer service. As well as underwriting traditional corporate risks, we also underwrite niche business called flexible benefits – where we also provide underwriting support on enquiries raised by telephone or email. We respond to these enquiries on the same day they are received.

3. What’s your claim to fame?

I have 3! I’ve met David Beckham, Wham singer Andrew Ridgeley and sat next to chef John Torode.  I’ve waved to Maria Carey at LAX airport too!

4. If you had a superpower what would it be?

I would say my superpower would have to be agility because I could multi-task, be flexible and adaptable to situations.

5. If you didn’t work in insurance, what would you be doing?

I would love to be in nursing or working with animals.
